PE

At St. Catherine's, Physical Education (PE) is a vibrant and integral part of the educational experience, designed to promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of students. The PE curriculum offers a rich and diverse range of activities that cater to various interests and skill levels, ensuring that every student can engage meaningfully in physical activity.

NUFC foundation coaches provide one lesson per week to enhance students' skills and knowledge in various sports. In parallel, classroom teachers conduct an additional PE lesson, which allows for a comprehensive approach to physical education, blending expert coaching with classroom management and teaching techniques.

For Key Stage 2 students, swimming lessons are an essential component of the curriculum, providing them with vital water safety skills and promoting lifelong aquatic fitness. These swimming sessions are scheduled throughout the school year, helping students gain confidence and proficiency in the water.

PE at St. Catherine's offers a rich curriculum that emphasises not only physical skills but also the development of important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Students are encouraged to set personal goals, participate in assessments, and reflect on their progress, fostering a sense of ownership over their physical development.

Overall, the approach to PE at St. Catherine's aims to instill a lifelong appreciation for physical activity while encouraging students to lead healthy, active lifestyles within a supportive and inclusive environment.
